Our Barrier Islands

Given the range of our Study, the Dolphin Explorer visits remote barrier islands. One is Keewaydin Island. Pictured above, it is the longest unbridged island on the west coast of Florida. Over 140 loggerhead sea turtle nests were sighted here last summer.

The Dolphin Explorer is a 36 foot powered catamaran designed for Gulf, bay and estuary waters. It is perfect for getting ‘up-close and personal ” to observe and photograph marine life.
